Michael Jackson – Smooth Criminal (Reconstructed by Nick*)

So glad to finally be able to put some work into Smooth Criminal. Long story short, I had to work around the video mix, which has a big difference from the album & single mixes that I never noticed. (No it's not the extra vocal lol). See if you can hear it!

Hey! I just got into this mix again "recontructed". I noticed that the original mix is originally faster than your reconstruction. Did you intentionally do this? And also I think that in the original mix, Michael Jacksons voice is more 'ahead' in regards to timing than in your mix. Did you also alter that? To me the original mix of Bruce Swedien does give the song more attack than your reconstruction. I'd like to know if that was made on purpose? Greetings

Hi! I did not change the timing of his vocal, but this is mixed at the original speed. Most of the tracks on the Bad album were sped up after being recorded. Since this is the video mix, the mixing and instrumentation is closer to the single mix rather than the final album version, which was mixed by Chris Currell. A lot of people don't realize it's his mix that made it to the latest versions of the album instead of Bruce's.
